Description

Bottom of a legal document. In Arabic script. Dated: 23 Rajab 596 AH = 9 May 1200 CE. (A previous description stated 13 Dhū l-Ḥijja 596 AH = 25 September 1200 CE.) There are two witness statements preserved. The substance of the document is not clear. One section (l. 5) refers to monthly installments (قسط كل شهر في سلخه). Another (ll. 7–8) lists various quantities of goods in pounds/arṭāl. The goods include olive oil (zayt ṭayyib), sugar cane molasses (quṭāra), and camphor (kāfūr). Needs further examination.
