Description

Legal document in Arabic script. Dated: 20 Shawwāl 741 AH = 8 April 1341 CE. Seems to be a debt contract in which two people acknowledged that they owe 400 dirhams to a third person. Unclear if it is signed or not. Reused in the upper margin and on recto for various other writings, including poetry and/or condolence blessings. (Information in part from Baker/Polliack catalog, where it is misidentified as a letter.)
