Description

Sugar accounting from the administration of the Ayyubid sultan al-Ṣāliḥ Ayyūb (al-Dīwān al-Ṣāliḥī al-Saʿīdī ...). The dating is established by comparison with TS AS 183.83 (PGPID 37888), likely from the same original ledger of accounts. The document gives many rich details about sugar production from various sugar refineries (maṭbakh, pl. maṭābīkh) from places such as Ashmūn and Minyat al-Qāʾid (here spelled with the interim spelling مية, in between earlier منية and modern ميت).
