Description

Deed of sale for a portion of a dār. Recto is the original deed. It opens هذا ما اشترى ابرهيم بن حسن ال . . . . . المهندس لست الدار ابنة منصور //اليهودية\\ المراة الكامل . . . . The first name (Ibrāhīm b. Ḥasan al-[...] al-Muhandis) would normally be the buyer and the second name (Sitt al-Dār bt. Manṣūr al-Yahūdīyya) the seller, however there is typically a "min" between them, and it is unclear what to make of the "li-" that appears here (he could be serving as her agent?). The remainder of the document is quite faded and damaged, but it is clearly describing a property (من اربعة وعشرين صهما شاىعا غير مقسوم من جميع الدار التي . . .). It seems that the bottom half was torn away and the remaining verso was then used for two faṣls. The first faṣl also references Sitt al-Dār bt. Manṣūr al-Yahūdiyya. It is dated 24 Ṣafar 554 AH. The second faṣl is dated Jumādā II 555 AH.
