Description

Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic using the currency corona. Dated in the main heading on the left side of the recto: 9 Ṣafar 962 AH (סבץ), which is 1555 CE. One of the entries on the right side of the verso mentions Yiṣḥaq Sholāl, probably not the final Nagid (r. 1502–1517 CE) who died earlier than 1555 CE– perhaps c. 1524 CE, as noted in: CUL Or.1080 J216 (PGPID 19804). A few lines below the reference to Yiṣḥaq Sholāl, a "commercial warehouse of the Nile" (וכאלית אלניל) is mentioned. Requires further examination. MCD.
