Description

Legal document in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe (dates: 1100–38 CE). Fragment (upper left corner of recto). There is writing on both sides. Involves ʿUlla b. Yefet and Abū l-Ḥasan the brother of Aharon. The case probably involves the dissolution of a partnership in a shop, after a protracted legal dispute. Also mentions "his son Abū ʿAlī"; "my wife Tāja bt. Ḥalfon"; and "his wife Sitt al-Kull bt. Ḥal[fon]." BL OR 13153.4/7 (PGPID 19175) and BL OR 13153.4/8 (PGPID 19176) are related, possibly two copies of the same document.
