Description

Bottom of a communal letter, in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi. Goitein: "Signature of the future Nagid Moshe b. Mevorakh ha-Nagid. Important. Mevorakh had 14 titles! The signature confirms that the title ha-Nagid was the official one." Dating: 1100-1112 CE, based on Mevorakh's years of service (1112-1126) and Ḥalfon b. Menashshe's active dates (1100-1138 CE).
