Description

Legal query in Arabic script. Question addressed to a Muslim jurisconsult (faqīh) with regard to a man who was frightened by another man concerning the medicine that he had taken, so that he then feared a chronic illness (shayʾ min amrāḍ al-zamān) on account of the fright that he had received.   1. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 
  2. ما يقول سيدنا الفقيه و فقه الله 
  3. في شخص شارب دوا من اول يوم و هوا
  4. في بيته و عرض عرض احوجه الخروج من
  5. بيته ليقضى حاجة لنفسه فارعده
  6. شجص على الدوا الذى شربه لغير
  7. سبب لرعدته و هاب الشجص شى من
  8. امراض الزمان من جهة الرعدة الذي
  9. ارتعد مع الشجص الذى [ [الر] ] ارعده لغير
  10. سبب و ان لم يكون تم شاهد الا
  11. الله تعالى افتنا رحمك الله و الحمد لله
  12. و صلى الله على سيدنا محمد

  1. In the name of God, the merciful and compassionate.  
  2. What does our lord, the jurisconsult, may God grant him prosperity, say 
  3. regarding the following. A person drank medicine and immediately collapsed 
  4. in his house. He manifested an ailment that obliged him to leave 
  5. his house to relieve himself. A person then frightened him  
  6. concerning the medicine that he had drunk, without there being any 
  7. reason for his fear, and the person feared some  
  8. chronic illness on account of the fright that  
  9. he had suffered through the person who had frightened him for no 
  10. reason. (This is what happened), although there was no witness, 
  11. save God, exalted is he. Grant us your opinion, may God have mercy upon you. Praise be to God  
  12. and the blessings of God be upon our lord Muḥammad
