Description

Letter from Shelomo b. Yehuda, gaʾon of the Jerusalem yeshiva, to an unknown person in Fusṭāṭ. This is a copy of the first part of the gaʾon's original letter, T-S 13J19.16 (PGPID 991), in the hand of Ghālib ha-Kohen b. Moshe. This copy and the original contain some interesting differences of orthography that could yield good information about Judaeo-Arabic and possibly about Hebrew as well; but both transcriptions should be double-checked, as there seems to have been some merging of the two copies both by Gil and by PGP transcribers.
