Description

Recto: part of a copy of a replacement ketubba for ʿAzīza bt. [...] and Saʿīd b. Yiṣḥaq. Dated: 5294 AM = 1533/34 CE. Location: Cairo. The original ketubba had been lost. Lower part of document not preserved, including any names of witnesses. Verso: (a) two drafts or templates of legal documents (one in Judaeo-Arabic and one in Hebrew) in which a wife promises not to insult her husband, etc. (b) the end of a letter or query involving Esther, rumors, R. Yishmaʿel, and R. Yehuda אבורכיל. (Information in part from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
