Description

State-issued receipt. Record of a ḥawāla transaction between Yeshūʿa the Jew (aka Shaʿyā Moṣeri) and Bilāl Agha Katkhuda (Ott. Tr. Kethüda) recorded at the Dīwān Anwāl al-Ḥarīr in Alexandria (the Bureau of Silk Looms). The amount of the ḥawāla is five thousand qurūsh rūmī, which is issued by the ṣarrāf Mūsa Naʿīm. The document was written, signed and stamped by the overseer of the Bureau of Silk Looms, al-Ḥājj ʿUmar Agha. The Judaeo-Arabic filing note mentions Yeshūʿa's nickname Shaʿyā and surname as well as a brief overview of the recto's contents. MCD.
