Description

Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic listing a variety of grocery items and home goods. Dated 28 Tevet 5537 AM (1777 CE). The heading on the right side of the bifolio notes that it was recorded on the night of the date mentioned, when the scribe's daughter was born (...בנתי אלדי אתולדת לי לילת אל תלאת כ׳׳ח לחדש טבת). The heading on the left side of the bifolio was recorded on the eve of [Yom] Kippur of the same year and lists income, probably communal donations, given the wide variety of families mentioned through the entries: Karo, Medina, Cesana, Yaʾīr, Bibas, Shalom, Franses, Rosano, Romano, Ashkenazi, Naʿar, and many others.
