Description

Fragment of a letter addressed to Ḥalfon b. Netanʾel ha-Levi. In Judaeo-Arabic. Excerpts: "... Sunday the day of my departure from Granada (אגרנאטה) . . . Friday, there arrived . . . reaching you with this [letter]. There preceded from me to you a letter from Wādī Āsh (ואדיאש, present-day Guadix) [and] another letter from Granada. And I received a letter from [Abū Is]ḥāq in which he said that he sent the copies (נסך) of Ibn Ṣadīq and the copies of [...] Ibn Sahl, bound (musaffar). . . and the letter nūn (חרף אלנון) from Abū Ibrāhīm Ibn Shabbat . . . sent everything to Abū Saʿīd al-Miṣrī. . . ." Regarding these shipments of books and the mysterious commodity referred to as "the letter nūn," see India Book IV vol. 1, p. 86, and 1908.44U (PGPID 9096) (IBIV doc. 54) and T-S 13J18.19 (PGPID 9097) (IBIV doc. 55).
