Description

Legal document. Location: Cairo. Dated: 15 Adar II [...], under the authority of the Nagid Avraham (Maimonides). The year is difficult to read but Avraham was head of the Jews 1205–37 and was known as Nagid from 1213 onward. The case concerns Khafāʾ bt. Abū l-Futūḥ al-Skandarānī (the Alexandrian). Verso: unidentified Hebrew text, possibly a prayer, including Jeremiah 36:6. (Information in part from CUDL.)
