Description

Letter/petition addressed to the Avraham (Maimonides), with the title "Nagid," thus post-1213 CE. In Judaeo-Arabic. The sender states that he has studied and memorized something for the first day of Rosh Hashana, as well as the hafṭara, and he asks permission (presumably to read it during the synagogue services). Reused at the bottom of recto and on verso for a table of names in both Arabic script and Judaeo-Arabic together with Greek/Coptic numerals.
