Description

Two letters in Judaeo-Arabic; recto and verso are in different hands. Dating: likely second half of the 11th century. Recto: Lower part of a letter in Judaeo-Arabic. Refers to someone's foolishness; asking the addressee to appeal to "the hearts of your friends and everyone you know"; the sender refers to his fear ("God knows") from somebody's paternal aunt; says that Abū Naṣr can't have been with them for some time; and refers to "anyone among the travelers" (aḥad min al-musāfirīn) Verso: Written in a distinctive Maghribī hand. Consists entirely of greetings, including to Abū l-Khayr; Abū [...] b. Ḥasan; Abū Zikrī Yehuda b. Menashshe; Abū Isḥāq the addresse's cousin (ibn ʿamm); (Abū) l-Bishr; and Abū l-Faraj Hibatallāh.
