Description

List of men's names organized according to family name (e.g. Castro, Romano, Qudsī, Ṭawīl, Tājir, Kohen). Communal rabbis (חכם) are listed first among the opening lines. Dating: 16th-century or later based on the paleography, but this estimate can likely be narrowed through further research on some of the unique names mentioned, such as: Ḥayyīm Pālas, Elʿazar Nasio(?) (נאשיו), Yehuda Sūriyya, Avraham מתרבאן (?), Aharon Dagnos(?) (דאגנוש), Yaʿaqov זוזרי(?). These latter surnames are uncommon in early modern geniza documents and may be easier to trace chronologically. MCD.
