Description

Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic (and eastern Arabic numerals). Dated: 5582 AM = 1821/22 CE. Headed: "The expenses (maṣrūf) of the Sephardic [congregation] מצות in Fustat/Cairo for the year 5582." Many names familiar from other Geniza documents of the period feature in this list. Some entries begin with "סוגיירת" (young daughter?) followed by parents. Shemuʾel, sughayrat Yisraʾel Romano,sughayrat Ḥabīb/Ḥavīv Sofriel, Meʾī Ṣevi Qaṭan, Ḥayyīm Yarḥī[?], Aṣlan Gatenio, Shemuʾel Pint, Yosef Gershon, sughayrat Siman Tov Ḥakīm, Nofal[?] Yiṣḥaq, Sulṭana bt.
