Description / Bio

Gaʾon of the Palestinian yeshiva from 1020–25. A letter possibly written by his successor Shelomo b. Yehuda notes that Shelomo b. Yosef ha-Kohen died "six days before Rosh ha-Shana" (Moss. II,141.1 – PGPID 869).
