Description / Bio

"[P]art owner of the Lebdi house and identified as a perfumer (ʿaṭṭār). Perfumers often were involved in the India trade, and from II, 11a we learn that he was traveling from Aden to Fustat, probably in connection with that commerce." (Goitein & Friedman, India Book p 267)
