Served as Gaʾon approximately 1160–66 CE. The earliest document invoking his authority is T-S Misc.24.137.4 (PGPID 1368) from January 1160, and the latest is T-S NS 308.114 from 1166. He was still alive in 1169 based on Bodl. MS heb. a 3/6.
