Description / Bio

Father of the prolific sixteenth-century court scribe Yosef b. Meʾīr Somekh ha-Kohen. Meʾīr may have also served as a scribe within the Rabbanite community of Cairo, although, there is currently only one document that attests to his scribal production (ENA NS 43.10).
