Daughter of the scholar Ḥananʾel b. Shemuʾel Ibn al-Amshāṭī and sister-in-law of Avraham Maimonides. She married her aunt's son, Peraḥyā b. Nissīm Ben Yijū, who studied under her father in Fustat.
