Description / Bio

Enslaved child (al-waṣīfa al-saghīra) mentioned in a deathbed letter in which her enslaver requests that she be given to her elder daughter Sitt al-Sirr. (Information from Craig Perry, Slavery and the Jews of Medieval Egypt, Appendix 1, no. 6)
