Palimpsest consisting of the Palestinian Talmud (including Peʾa 18d and 20b-c and Šeqalim, 44a-b; 46b), written over a Syriac text, The Life of St Anthony by Athanasius of Alexandria. Edited in Lewis (1902: 146–49) as text XXXV.
Many of the phrases are legible but the overall content is obscure. Mentions Abū ʿAlī Ṣemaḥ (ابو علي صمح) several times. Reused on verso for accounts in Judaeo-Arabic and some Arabic script. Mentions "3 from al-Fayyūmī."
The currency used is the riyal (ריאליס). There is also a lovely illustration of three birds. ASE.
Includes details about shipment from Fustat to the ship in Alexandria. Similar to T-S Arabic 30.123, this time the shipment is of varnish.
