Deed of sale issued by a sharīʿa court in Bilbays 1519CE, with two addenda/endorsements (faṣls) on verso. The ḥujja on the recto was recorded by an unknown qadi court (likely in Bilbays) in 1 Rajab 925 AH = 29 June 1519 CE. The property which is being sold is one-half of a dyeing shop in in Bilbays (l. 7r, 11r). The buyer is a Jewish man from Baḥṭīṭ (l. 2r) and the seller is a Jewish woman. There is extensive description of the spatial orientation and perimeters of the property. The faṣl on the lefthand side of verso was issued by the qāḍī Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥasan al-Santāwī al-Shāfiʿī the judge "in the city of Bilbays and its district and surrounds in al-Sharqiyya." Dated: 5 Dhū l-Ḥijja 926 AH = 16 November 1520 CE. Witesses: Aḥmad b. Muḥammad al-Khaṭīb; Muḥammad b. Muḥammad al-Anṣārī The faṣl on the righthand side of verso was issued by the chief qadi court in Cairo "al-Bāb al-ʿĀlī" (l. 3v).
