الوصف

Letter from Yosef to his father Abū l-Bishr b. Makārim al-Iskandarī to be delivered via Eliyyahu the judge. Dating: first part of the 13th century. He reports that the letter sent with Shemuel ha-Rav ha-Muvhaq arrived; also with Mūsā Ibn al-Dubb the Qaraite, 5 dirhams did not come. A Christian claimed that some people owed him 60 dirhams. Mentions the sender's mother at least twice. The sender is prepared to compose a poem/panegyric of gratitude (qaṣīdat shukr) to the notables of Fustat or Cairo who will be helpful to the addressee.
