الترجمة

S. D. Goitein, handwritten texts.
  1. Ibrāhīm b. Bū l-Faḍl, may his end be good,
  2. and Bū l-Ḥasan b. Bū l-ʿAlāʾ, may his end be good, both appeared in court.
  3. The aforementioned Ibrāhīm put down
  4. three and one-half Egyptian dinars,
  5. and the aforementioned Bū l-Ḥasan put down one and one-half dinars,
  6. and the two sums were intermingled. It was acknowledged that
  7. Abū l-Ḥasan would supplement his contribution until it reached a full three and one-half dinars
  8. so that the two investments would be of equal value.
  9. We made the symbolic purchase from them
  10. in a valid manner, to be in effect immediately, and they prayed for guidance from
  11. the Creator may He be praised. The two parties will work in
  12. the craft of goldsmithing, and they will sell (their products).
  13. Whatever profit they make
  14. is to be shared between them equally in half.
  15. Likewise, if they encounter a setback
  16. in the work in which they will be engaged,
  17. that too is to be borne between them equally.
