Recto

1. In the name of God, the most merciful and compassionate.
2. Prescription for "the great" musk electuary, verified in two recipes:
3. emblic, chebulic myrobalan, purslane seed, and Iraqi pop[py] seed,
4. five dirhams of each; bamboo chalk, five dirhams; petals
5. of red roses and maqāṣīrī sandalwood, five dirhams of each;
6. Indian aloeswood, one mithqāl; Indian spikenard, black cardamom,
7. clove kernels(?), tablets of sukk of musk, mastic, zerumbet,
8. false leopard's bane, raw silk, unpierced pearls, amber, coral,
9. basil seed, citron, one mithqāl of each; seed of clove-like
10. b[asil] weighing two mithqāls; silver filings, one dirham; gold filings,
11. one dirham; lapis lazuli, one dirham; musk, one dirham; camphor, one dirham;
12. and white sugar equal in weight to all the ingredients. Crush everything and knead
13. with rosewater weighing twenty dirhams. Afterward, knead
14. with a syrup whose prescription is as follows: Take a raṭl of emblic, cook it in nine
15. raṭls of water until it reduces to a third. Strain it and bring it back to the clarity of

1. [...] a quantity, with three raṭls of juleb syrup, and cook it until
2. the syrup comes together. Knead \\in this// half of the remedy and place it in a vessel
3. that has been incensed with fine aromatic wood. This remedy is known as 
4. "the sweet musk electuary." Take half of the ingredients above
5. and add to them Greek absinthe weighing five dirhams and
6. Socotran aloe weighing five dirhams. This is "the bitter musk remedy." 
7. Effective, God willing.

3. Take mastic, cinnamon, clove, Indian spikenard, [...]
4. tablets, nutmeg, cubeb, black cardamom, cardamom, galingale, [...],
5. aloeswood incense, citron leaf, faranjamushk, which is the kernel(?)
6. of the clove, basil seed, marjoram, wild thyme, ginger, and long
7. pepper, ten dirhams of each; pearl, coral, amber,
8. raw silk, red behen, white behen, and Indian laurel,
9. ten dirhams of each; pure musk weighing two dāniqs.
10. Combine it after the grinding and the sieving, and knead it in honey of chebulic 
11. myrobalan preserves. Effective, God willing.
