  2. Record //of testimony// which took place before us—we, the
  3. undersigned witnesses, on Thursday
  4. the twenty-fourth day
  5. of the month of Tammuz of the year one thousand two hundred
  6. and ninety-eight years of the count
  7. (of the Era) of Documents, which we regularly employ
  8. in Fusṭāṭ Egypt,
  9. situated on the great Nile River
  10. //and four// Thus: Joseph b. Jacob
  11. and ‘Alī b. Qīmoī said to us: “Be
  12. witnesses on our behalf, perform a qinyan with us
  13. effective immediately, write and sign
  14. on our behalf, using all the language of claims,
  15. that we have collaborated (in a partnership), placing
  16. in a (single) purse four silver coins,
  17. from which each of us (contributed)
  18. two silver coins. Both of them
  19. will buy and sell,
  20. purchase and transact
  21. with them in whatever sort
