1. On the second day of the week, which is the sixth day of the month of Marḥeshvan of the year one thousa[nd]
2. four hundred forty-four according to the calendar of documents
3. to which we are accustomed, in the city of of Manjarūr in the la[nd of In]dia,
4. in the dependency of Malībārāt, the capital city ... ,
5. which is situated on the shore of the great sea, under the authority of our lord Daniʾe[l]
6. the Great Nasi, the Exilarch of all Israel, son of our lord Ḥas[day]
7. the Great Nasi, the Exilarch of all Israel, and under the authority of [our] gaʾon,
8. Maṣliaḥ ha-Kohen, head of the Yeshiva of the Pride of Jacob, son of Shelomo ha-[Kohen],
9. head of the Yeshiva of the Pride of Jacob, by the merit of Abraham our father, I,
10. Avraham bar Peraḥya, (may he) r(est in) E(den), who is known as Ben Yijū, and (by) any name that I possess,
11. I commanded and willed with the will of my soul, not being forced, with a whole heart
12. and a willing soul, I have relinquished, freed, and liberated you
13. you, Ashū, the maidservant (shifḥa), the convert, the Tuḷuviyya whom I had acquired with the best
14. of [my] money from the house of your mistress. By any name and designation that you possess and have posssessed,
15. my maidservant before now, and now I have freed, liberated, relinquished,
16. and released you, so that you shall be a free, self-governed woman. Behold, you are for yourself.
17. Behold, you are unto yourself. Behold, you are a free woman, with authority over yourself, like other
18. free people. You have my permission to be called by another name, like a daughter
19. of Israel. No person shall interfere with you forevermore, from my name and from my heirs after me.
20. This shall be your writ of freedom from me, a letter of release according to the law of Moses and Israel.
21. Furthermore, we said to the aforementioned Avraham bar Peraḥya, (may he) r(est in) E(den), known as Ben Yijū:
22. We effect this legal transaction with you by means of a valid legal transfer. He said yes, and we effected the transactation with Avraham bar Peraḥya, (may he) r(est in) E(den), known as Ben Yijū,
23. with regard to all that is written and explained above, a complete transfer, with an implement fitting for legal transfer.
24. What was before us we wrote and signed and gave to Ashū the freed convert,
25. this one, daughter of Abraham, may her name be called Berakha among the daughters of Israel, to serve her
26. in her hand as a right and proof of [what is written] above, from now and forever. Everything (herein) is valid and cle[ar].
