Legal record (#136) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 44v of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). If the entry was originally dated, this section is lost to damage across the upper portion of the page. Nearby entries are dated c. 1568 CE. The subject matter of this record shifts from a standard debt acknowledgement and proxy appointment for debt collection at the opening of the text, to the issue of Farjallah lying about compensating Ṣedaqa Kohen. The latter party then confirms that he has no new outstanding claims "beyond the (issue) of the bread," which was probably explained in the missing opening lines as part of the original debt agreement. The text abruptly cuts off before being sealed by the scribe. MCD
