Copy of a letter attributed to Yehuda ha-Levi (l. 9) to the Nagid Shemuʾel b. Ḥananya (l. 1) "when he was in a ship [awaiting a favorable wind in Alexan]dria" (חין כאן פי מרכב, l. 1). The portion preserved here consists of poetic blessings and praises in Hebrew. He reports that upon the arrival of Shemuʾel's letter, "it quieted the storm and soothed the waves of the sea," which is metaphorical but also fits with the idea that he wrote this letter while in a ship (about to set sail?). Similar to T-S Misc.35.25 (PGPID 23464). This may be the letter referred to in T-S AS 146.6 (PGPID 9124). Reused on verso for calculations related to biblical chronology (e.g. mentioning Methuselah and the flood). This may help facilitate a join.
