الوصف

Letter to the Nubian eparch Uruwī (اروي) in Ibrīm from the amīr and head of the Banū Kanz, Kanz al-Dawla Abū Manṣūr Mutawwaj al-ʿĀḍidī. Dating: 1160–71, based on the sender's epithet identifying him as part of the retinue of the Fatimid caliph al-ʿĀḍid (r. 555–67/1160–71). In which Kanz al-Dawla informs the eparch that a certain Saʿāda, presumably an envoy of Kanz al-Dawla, is on his way to Ibrīm by boat with an entourage and asks the eparch to update them regarding the status of Kanz al-Dawla's freed slaves, to receive them honorably and to send a return message with instructions. MR Khan, Qaṣr Ibrīm doc. 1.
