ḳāmış ve toḫum [?] muḳāṭaʿaları vardır. Ḫażra ʿāmili Salmūn ḳulları başḳa ḳāmış muḳāṭaʿasın Saʿdiye Kohīn nām

bir Yehūdīye otuz altı bin pāra[ya] beyʿ idüb ve toḫum muḳāṭaʿasın daḫi yiğirmi bir bin beş yüz pāraya
beyʿ idüb, ve ḳāmış muḳāṭaʿasının senesi tamām olub, defter mūcebince ṭoḳsān bin pāra taḥṣīl
olunmuş, māl-i mīrīdir. Bu ḳulun yüklenen beş yüz altuna mezbūr [Saʿdiye?] teftīş olmaḳ şarṭiyle
yiğirmi bin pāra ziyādesiyle ḳabūl iderim. Ümīd budur ki mezbūr Ḫażra ʿāmīli ve Saʿdiye hużūr-ı

the witnesses, and concerning this slander, and that which was taken from [his] taxes [?] [ ]
by //great// force, and he rejected it [and says], ‘I am going to the sub-/vice-’, [ ][and that to which they will testify in that regard is that [?]]
they are numerous, and among them is the exalted sage K[avod] h[a-]R[av] [the honourable rabbi] [ ] [and K[avod] h[a-]R[av]]
Moshe ʿAṭiyya and K[avod ha-] R[av] Avraham Arīpol and K[avod] h[a-]R[av]
Moshe Abī ʿAṭṭār and K[avod ha-] R[av] Moshe [ib]n Hīnī.
This was done by way of a ruse, until
he was rescued from his hand, from giving [i.e., paying] interest
in front of the minister/vizier.

My petition to the noble dust under the feet of his excellency my honoured, esteemed, and munificent //lord// is as follows: Attached to the tax farm of al-Khaḍra
are the tax farms of sugar cane and grain/seeds [?]. The tax farmer of al-Khaḍra, the slave Salmūn, has separately sold the sugar cane tax farm to a Jew named Saʿadia Cohen
for 36,000 pāras and has sold the grain/seed tax farm for an additional 21,500 pāras.
[Now] the sugar cane tax farm’s annual term is complete, and, per the register, 90,000 pāras have been collected,
and they [belong to] the state revenues. This slave [i.e., the writer] accepts [the tax farm] for the 500 gold pieces that he has agreed to [lit., ‘undertaken’],
with an increase [in the purchase price] of 20,000 pāras, on the condition that the aforementioned [Saʿadia?] be investigated. My wish is that the aforementioned tax farmer of al-Khaḍra and Saʿadia
be summoned into your noble presence, and that [the changes to the tax farm] be registered in your noble presence. In this manner, do your slave the favour
of letting me arrive [in al-Khaḍra] and do my duty. My desire is to render service to my lord and strive for the state. Do the favour of sending the confirmed ҫavuş [to attend to] these matters.
The eternal command is my lord’s.
