Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic for payments received, the paleography helps date this fragment to the fifteenth-sixteenth centuries. Given how much of the text is missing, the only full name that is visible is al-Ḥājj Khalīfa al-Qādi. The currency of the monetary values may be implied by "fiḍḍa" (perhaps the late-Mamlūk and early Ottoman medin) but this usage could also refer more broadly to an unnamed type of silver coinage that was in use for these payments.
