State document, it seems an order from a higher-up or a response/rescript (tawqiʿ) for a petition. (There is in fact a draft petition on verso of this document, except that it seems incomplete and written later.) One notable feature of the diplomatics is that the ʿalāma (the signature/trademark of the official who issued the document or had the document drawn up by a kātib in his name) is written between lines 2 and 3, where the scribe left a large space for this purpose. The document is about Ṭāhir b. Ibrāhīm (or perhaps Ẓāfir?) and his government employment (khidma); needs further examination. A few phrases: مذ عولت على طاهر (ظافر؟) بن ابرهيم سلمه الله في الخدمة. . . . ليستخدم على حوطها . . .
