الوصف

Letter fragment in Judaeo-Arabic. The hand looks like that of Shelomo b. Eliyyahu (early 13th century). Refers to something shameful (al-ʿār), "what people say" (kalām al-nās), idleness/unemployment (al-baṭāla) which leads to evil and madness (alladhī tūjib al-shirr wa-l-junūn). The sender does not know whether a person is in Qalyūb or elsewhere. If he found it in himself to leave this man, he would leave him, however he fears that if he does so, he will not be able to bear the consequences. Refers to the money of a young man (durayhimāt al-ṣabiyy). Needs further examination and hopefully a join.
