Official report. Fragment (left side). The sender reports that he arrived in a certain location at the end of Ṭūba (early February). He reports concerning the crops (ghallāt, zirāʿa). He refers to locations including a lake (buḥayra), possibly [Sh]īwa near Damsīs, and "the island of Shubrā Damsīs." It seems that the planting was not completed in these areas, especially wheat. Refers to seed advances (taqāwī); the context is unclear and it might be preceded by "... and no decrees (sijillāt)." Somebody is to be informed about the types of crops planted, and somebody has embarked on a course of action (...dhālika. Wa-sharaʿa fī ʿamalihī wa-injāzihī....). There are also a few lines of Arabic interspersed between the wide spacings of the petition, probably from later reuse or annotations, though the hand looks similar to the main hand. The first interspersed line bears a date: Thursday 19 Muḥarram 550 AH = 25 March 1155 CE. Another line refers to "the deposited gold" (al-dhahab al-mawduʿ). Also reused on recto for Hebrew piyyuṭ; this is attributed to Sahlān b. Avraham on FGP. YU/ASE
