الوصف

Beautifully preserved legal document dated 21 September 1621 CE. The opening line identifies the court as having been held at the gate of the Qawṣūn mosque in Cairo. Mentions the distinguished judge Muṣṭafā Effendi. Involves Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm b. Aḥmad al-Azharī(?) al-Sukkarī(?) and a certain Dāʾūd. May refer to "jamāʿat al-gharb" (the Maghribī Jewish community?). There is an addendum on verso from 5 years later. Merits examination.
