الوصف

Letter in Judaeo-Arabic. Writer and addressee unknown. Dating: No earlier than 15th century; mentions the currency ashrafī. The letter deals in great depth with a matter of a fatwā and dealings with the Muslim courts, including a Ḥanafī judge. Mentions Ramla. Bears some structural resemblance to the Qaraite case of 1465 discussed among other places in Rustow, "Karaites Real and Imagined," Past & Present (2007). Needs further examination.
