الوصف

Leaf probably originally from a larger quire. On recto there is a poem in Hebrew. On verso there is a dedication (mostly in Judaeo-Arabic) stating that these are poems (aqwāl) from Shemaryahu b. Aharon ha-Kohen written for 'the master of the scribes' Aharon b. Yaʿaqov ha-Kohen. There is an interesting addendum which might make sense to those well-versed in Hebrew calligraphy styles, in which the scribe explains why he used a "hanging" calligraphy (khaṭṭ muʿallaq), namely because the paper was soft and it was written in 'the time of Kānūn' (=winter), thus the paper could hardly "hold" (fa-lā yakād an yamsik) a "settled/seated" calligraphy (khaṭṭ mujallas).
