An important and extremely unusual Arabic legal/communal document using Jewish legal formulae and invoking Moses (Mūsā b. ʿImrān al-Rasūl), appointing Sahlān b. Barhūn […] al-Mumḥe (i.e., the well-known Sahlān b. Avraham) as cantor and leader of the (Babylonian) community (…لهم يصلي بهم ويتقدم عليهم…), also as authority over ‘their marriages and divorces,’ citing all of his good traits ( صيانته ومعرفته etc.).
