الوصف

Fragment of a literary text, in Arabic script. Bifolio of a larger Arabic text, mentioning a conversation between ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān (646-705; the fifth Umayyad caliph) and his general al-Ḥajjāj b. Yūsuf. There are verses from the poetry of the jāhiliyya poet Lubayd b. Rabīʿa on verso. This text is most likely part of al-ʿIqd al-Farīd, a tenth-century composition by Ibn ʿAbd Rabbihi (d. 940), an Andalusian poet and writer. The preserved text is part of the section "Wūfūd al-Shaʿbī ʿalā ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān", which is written in red-ink on recto. YU.
