Tax receipt issued to Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb for his ḍamān on dyeing in Madīnat al-Fayyūm. Dated: 2 or 8 Dhū l-Qaʿda 405. Payment made under the supervision of three officials: (1) the auspicious, rightly guided qāḍī Thiqat al-Mulk Makīn al-Dawla wa-Amīnuhā, p[rotégé of the Commander of the Faithful], [Ab]ū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Nahār; (2) (in) the presence of the fiduciary qāḍī Abū ʿAlī l-Ḥasan b. Yaḥyā b. Nahār [on his] beh[alf]; (3) (under) the tax accounting of Sadīd al-Dawla Abū l-Faraj ʿAbd al-Masīḥ b. Qūrīl. Reused for a state document dated 15 Shawwāl 545 (4 February 1151), suggesting that some tax receipts were archived and retained for for more than a century.
