الوصف

Fragment of a mercantile letter, probably. On parchment. Dating: probably 11th century. Some of the text on verso has the layout of an account, but the rest reads like a letter. Mentions the winds" (al-aryāḥ), the stores of the workers (dakākin al-ʿammālīn), a register, shipping sums of money (fa-ḥamalū hādhihi l-amwāl), and the sea or the Nile (kull shayʾ fī l-baḥr).
