Communal letter/petition. In Hebrew. Dated: Iyyar [1]293 Seleucid = April/May 982 CE. The unidentified sender's ʿalāma is אור וישע. Although the leaf is quite large, it is badly mutilated and rubbed. (It would be a good candidate for multispectral imaging.) Mentions "[someone] who is a cantor for this congregation... [someone who acted] as his heart desired with/against us and the people of the city... what he thought would be an advantage became a loss and he was fined 2,000...." The last few lines have phrases beseeching the addressee to take action and earn merit. (Information in part from CUDL.)
