الوصف

Letter. Opening with marriage congratulations in Hebrew, beginning with a quote from Ruth 4:11–12. This is followed by an appeal for assistance in Judaeo-Arabic. The sender describes himself as a stranger (gharīb) and offers various apologies/excuses. The two lines on verso appear to be written in a different hand or ink, but continue the same theme (weeping, dependents, poverty). There is a mention of Yehuda ha-Nasi in the penultimate line of recto, apparently the name of the sender (al-khādim Yehuda ha-Nasi). (Information in part from CUDL)
