Recto: receipt relating to the tax farm of Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb written by Mīkhāʾīl b. ʿAbd al-Masīḥ, the cashier, and registered by the Office of Accounts on behalf of the Office of Supervision: Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb has paid the sum of a third dīnār and a dāniq for his ḍamān on dyeing in Al-Fayyūm, under the supervision of the judge Ṯiqat al-Mulk Makīn al-Dawla wa-Amīnuhā, of the protégé of the commander of the faithful Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Bahār, and the accountant Abū l-Sarī Theodor b. Yuḥannis. Dated: 7 Ṣafar 404 AH, which is August 1013 CE. Verso: Arabic accounts (incomplete). (Information from CUDL)

- لسنة اربع واربعمائة بمشارفة القاضى السعيد الرشيد
- ثقة الملك مكين الدولة وامينها صنيعة امير المومنين
- ابى الحسن على بن بهار وعمالة ابو السرى
- ثيدر بن يحنس
- و النصف من ذلك سدس وقيراط مبلغه ثلث وقيراطين

- They have registered the amount of a third and two qīrāṭs (= a twelfth).
- Praise be to God for his bounties.
- In the name of God, the merciful and compassionate.
- A valid receipt has been granted to ʾAbū al-Ḥasan ibn Wahb for the sum owed through his standing surety for the estates in the town of al-Fayyūm
- in the year four-hundred and four, under the supervision of the auspicious, rightly-guided judge,
- Ṯiqat al-Mulk Makīn al-Dawla wa-ʾAmīnuhā, the protégé of the commander of the faithful,
- ʾAbū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Bahār, with ʾAbū al-Sarī
- Theodor ibn Yuḥannis acting as accountant.
- Half of this: A sixth and a qīrāṭ ( = a twenty-fourth). Its amount: A third and two qīrāṭs (= a twelfth).
- Written by Mīḵāʾīl ibn ʿAbd al-Masīḥ, the cashier. Valid. The seventh of Ṣafar,
- in the year four-hundred and four.
