Letter dealing with Jewish communal matters. With introductory blessings in Hebrew followed by the body in Judaeo-Arabic. The sender(s) are addressing a local community somewhere (al-jamāʿa al-muqaddasa); the name might be given (מניה אביר? Abyār? but this is not the usual spelling, and too faded to be sure). They received the community's letter and were pained to learn of the doings of the wicked ʿarīf (אלרשע אלעריף), and they also received the two letters addressed to 'the elders of the nation' (shuyūkh al-umma), called 'al-ḥaḍra al-dīwāniyya' and 'al-ḥaḍra al-shaykhiyya al-wakīliyya.' The rest of the letter's content is missing.
